Lasers have been used for multiple applications within dentistry, but their effectiveness for advanced periodontal disease and peri-implantitis cases has been questioned. This course discusses the proper use of various types of lasers for different treatment modalities while introducing a new Nd:Yag technology that could dramatically alter the treatment of advanced periodontal and peri-implant lesions.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify which type of laser is ideal for use in different clinical scenarios.
- Discover why there is a significant difference in effectiveness between lasers and their interaction with tissue.
- Demonstrate the multiple ways a new Nd:Yag laser can be applied to shift the way we treat phase I and phase II periodontal therapy and peri-implantitis.
